Mesmerizing trip to London, Scotland & Ireland:
Day 1 of our exciting UK and Ireland trip began with a flight on Emirates, including a layover in Dubai. As we embarked on our adventure, we couldn't resist buying a stylish sling bag from Victoria's Secret. Our first destination was the charming city of London, where we settled into Sim's home.
The morning of Day 1 greeted us with a delightful breakfast of besan ke chile, a savory Indian dish. After a well-deserved rest, we set out for an evening visit to the iconic Greenwich Observatory. We couldn't resist capturing the moment when we stood on the Prime Meridian, snapping pictures right on the line. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we indulged in delicious ice cream from Dark Sugar. Finally, we concluded the day with a home-cooked dinner of rice and sambhar, a comforting Indian dish.
On Day 2, we started the morning with a cup of tea before preparing for our journey to Scotland. A hearty breakfast of parantha fueled us for the day ahead. We boarded a train bound for Scotland and enjoyed a serving of Pohe during the journey. As we arrived, the captivating city of Scotland welcomed us. Our accommodation for the day was a cozy Airbnb. We couldn't resist capturing the beauty of Saint Giles Cathedral through our lenses and exploring the famous Royal Mile street. For lunch and dinner, we savored the flavors of Tuktuk Indian street food, relishing garlic naan, daal makhni, and paneer.
Day 3 began with a satisfying breakfast of sandwiches, pohe, and tea at our accommodation. We ventured to Edinburgh Castle and marveled at the architectural wonders it held. The Milkman tempted us with their delectable pastries. Later, we visited Calton Hill and took in the breathtaking views. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the visit to Edinburgh Castle, where we admired the Crown Jewels and soaked in the history. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious meal at Pizza Express, and Victoria Street provided a vibrant atmosphere to explore.
On Day 4, we embarked on an adventure to Stirling Castle, capturing picturesque moments throughout our visit. Doune Castle and the scenic River Teith added to the beauty of our journey. We continued our exploration with stops at Lock Lomond, Glencoe, and Blair Athol Distillery, where we enjoyed drinks and captured unforgettable photographs. Loch Leven, with its fresh water lake and stunning rapseed fields, left us in awe. Crossing the Queensferry Bridge, we journeyed back home, completing an eventful day.
For breakfast on Day 5, we relished Theple and pohe, setting the tone for another day of exploration. Our first stop was Glencoe, a place of exceptional beauty. We continued to Loch Lomond, Loch Leven, and Loch Linnhe, each offering breathtaking scenic vistas. The Birchbrae Highland Lodges in Onich provided a comfortable stay. We couldn't resist some shopping at Morrison and ended the day with a pasta dinner at our accommodation, followed by a movie night watching "kathal."
Day 6 greeted us with a visit to Glenfinnan, where we captured the iconic Harry Potter train bridge. We enjoyed tea and snacks at open benches near the Glenfinnan Viaduct Cafe. Driving onward to Inverness, we stopped for photos at Commando Memorial and experienced the beauty of Loch Ness. Our journey included a visit to Urquhart Castle and a delightful lunch at Carnac Point.
Day 7 was spent enjoying the serene surroundings of Birchbrae Highland Airbnb. We embarked on a magical trip to the Isle of Skye, with misty mountains and rugged coastlines enchanting us at every turn. Eilean Donan Castle provided a breathtaking backdrop.
Out travel adventure took us on a picturesque drive to Inverness. Along the way, we made a stop at the Commando Memorial, capturing breathtaking photos of the surrounding landscape. Continuing our journey, we drove alongside the famous Loch Ness, marveling at its mysterious allure. Our next stop was Urquhart Castle, where we immersed ourselves in the rich history and enjoyed exploring its ruins. For a delightful lunch, we found ourselves at Carnac Point, savoring Scottish shortbread and cake at a charming café.
On Day 8, we settled into our cozy accommodation at Birchbrae Highland Airbnb. The highlight of the day was our visit to the magical Isle of Skye, renowned for its misty mountains, rugged coastline, and awe-inspiring landscapes. We couldn't resist exploring Eilean Donan Castle, a picturesque landmark set against the backdrop of Loch Duich. In the charming village of Inverinate, we indulged in a delicious lunch, relishing the flavors of Scottish cuisine. As we made our way back, we crossed the loch on a free ferry, stopping for a comforting cup of hot chocolate milk. Before returning to our accommodation, we couldn't resist capturing the beauty of Loch Lomond through our lenses.
Day 9 marked the beginning of a new chapter in our journey as we bid farewell to Scotland and headed to Glasgow Airport to catch our flight to Dublin. Arriving in Dublin, we checked into the Staycity Apartments Tivoli, our comfortable base for exploring the city. Our first stop was St. Patrick's Cathedral, where we admired the impressive architecture and soaked in the historical significance. To satisfy our appetites, we indulged in pizza and drinks at the vibrant Temple Bar district, immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere. No visit to Dublin would be complete without enjoying Irish music and raising a pint of Guinness to toast the lively spirit of the city.
Day 10 ,started with a hearty breakfast at Burannty cottage, fueling us for an adventure to the magnificent Cliffs of Moher. The dramatic coastal cliffs offered breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, leaving us in awe of nature's beauty. Along the way, we made a stop at a beachside location, soaking in the tranquility of the Atlantic coast. Before returning to our accommodation, we stopped by Morrisons for some groceries and even found a T-shirt for Manju as a memorable keepsake.
On Day 11, we embarked on a scenic drive to the stunning Peninsula of Dingle. Our first stop was Inch Beach, where we reveled in the pristine beauty of the coastline. For a satisfying lunch, we found ourselves at Maxwest, indulging in delicious flavors. No visit to Dingle would be complete without savoring the renowned ice cream at Murphy's. We couldn't resist some shopping and made memorable purchases, including a T-shirt for Papa, shorts for Aman, slippers for Sim, and a jacket for P's Mom.
Day 12, began with a delightful breakfast, preparing us for a day of travel. After packing our belongings, we set off on a drive to Dublin. Along the way, we paused for photos at Moorefield Cross Road, capturing memories of our journey. A stop at Tesco provided us with some essentials, and we couldn't resist enjoying Nutella biscuits and Pringle chips along the way. Glendalough Lake and Park offered us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature's tranquility and enjoy the stunning views of the lower and upper lake. As the day came to a close, we checked into Camden Court Hotel, a comfortable retreat for the night.
On our final day, Day 13, we reluctantly checked out of our hotel and made our way to Dublin Airport. We shopped at the airport and bought some signature gifts as a token of memories before we bid farewell to the mesmerising landscape of London, Scotland and Ireland.
