To celebrate the power of ‘Yoga: A Spiritual Discipline’ and to bring harmony between mind and body thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; a multi-dimensional initiative was taken up by Ahlcon International School by joining hands with CBSE on the theme- “Yoga for Well-being. To promote and integrate ‘Yoga’ in the school curriculum a plethora of activities were conducted over a fortnight from 12th June to 21st June - ‘The International Yoga Day'.

Students of grade VI to VIII demonstrated their enthusiasm and commitment through 100 percent participation in the activities like ‘Yoga Sessions’ under the guidance of Ms. Monika Shishodia of Sports Department, Ahlcon International School and a noted Guru Dalip Zutshi, recipient of Yoga Ratna from Ahlcon Public School. Beginning with Omkar chanting, Surya Namaskar and easy to perform asanas students, teachers, and parents all spiritedly became the members of this mega celebration of physical and mental fitness. Other power-packed Online Yoga training sessions and videos of noted yogic gurus were taken up with great interest by all as well.

The online Yoga Quiz on ‘Understanding of Yoga’ conducted on 18th June 2021 during the Well-Being session helped reinforce and enrich students’ knowledge about yoga and its benefits. A Special Assembly on 21st June marked the culmination of Yoga Week, as it motivated children to practice yoga daily for improving their flexibility, strength, balance and attaining harmony during the pandemic. The session by Dalip Zutshi on yogic exercises was a capsule of enlightenment to be taken up religiously.  

Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav in his address to the students reinstated that regular practice of yoga will add flavour to good health and bring forth happiness which is within us. It is a light, which once ignited will never dim. HM-Middle section Ms. Sunita Rajiv in her closing remarks expressed her vision of gaining tranquility and joy by walking the path of wellness through yogic practices.
