To celebrate the power of ‘Yoga’ which is a spiritual discipline of focusing to bring harmony between mind and body, thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being; a multi-dimensional initiative was taken up by Ahlcon International School by joining hands with CBSE in celebrating International Yoga week-2021 on the theme- “Yoga for Well-being. To promote and integrate ‘Yoga’ in the school curriculum a plethora of activities were conducted over a fortnight from 12 th June to 21 st June -‘The International Yoga Day’.

 Students of grade VI to VIII demonstrated their enthusiasm and commitment through cent percent participation in the activities like ‘Yoga Sessions’ under the guidance of Ms. Monika Shishodia of Sports Department-AIS and another noted Guru like Dalip Zutshi, a recipient of Yoga Ratna from Ahlcon Public School. Beginning with Omkar chanting, Surya Namaskar and easy to perform asanas students, teachers, and parents all vehemently became the members of this mega celebration of physical and mental fitness. Other power-packed Online Yoga training sessions and videos of noted yogic gurus were taken up with great interest by all.

The online Yoga Quiz on ‘Understanding of Yoga’ conducted on 18th June 2021 through MS Forms during the well-being session for students organized to enrich students’ knowledge about Yoga and its benefits was an enriching reinforcement. The Special Assembly on 21 June marked the culmination day and it motivated children to practice yoga daily for improving their flexibility, strength, balance, and attaining harmony during the pandemic time. The session by Dalip Zutshi was a capsule of enlightenment to be taken up religiously.  

Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav too in his address to the students, said that regular practice of yoga will add flavour of good health and bring happiness from within. HM-Middle section Ms. Sunita Rajiv expressed her vision of gaining contentment and happiness by walking the path of wellness.
