Is it possible to reclaim a sustainable world?






My optimistic self says yes though the realistic me believes we are yet far from achieving a sustainable world. But surely,

·       Each one can lead by example. We must try to reach out / influence people

·       People can take any medium, but it should have positive impact on masses

·       Leaders can play a big role by setting examples and leading by examples

·        We must ‘Preach what we practice or Practice what we preach’

What role religious leaders, artists, academicians can play? What role can education play?

Religious leaders - act as intercessors to God, representing their people to God and acting as intermediaries to him by offering prayers on the behalf of their people. As they are held in immense respect by their people and are dearly loved they can help to make the world a better place. They have the power and wisdom to influence people and provide guidance to their followers. They can-

·       lead, inspire, and guide people to act in good and rightful ways that will help all to be compassionate to all creatures, spread harmony and live good lives.

·        use the SDGs as a beacon of hope for humanity and guide people of all faiths to come together for saving humanity from perishing.

Artists- Art is relevant in the creation of our everyday experiences and our future, as such it is much needed by sustainability. Artists can-

·        help us to envision a new future and create everyday experiences that will transform the quality of our daily living.

·        build hope and create a bridge between the arts and sustainability — a bridge whereby the creative process can offer new methods in approaching sustainability and offer the possibilities for the beautiful life at the core of everyone’s desire.

·       create masterpieces for humanity to meet its needs without destroying either the beauty or the integrity of Nature.

·        ignite our observation, creative skills, express our awe, sorrow, anger to show our deep engagement with the world.

Academicians are changemakers who have a positive impact on the world. They can-

·       carve our path to do something bigger and believe progress is always possible.

·       bring awareness among the masses to collaborate innovative ideas and develop close relationships with local people, communities, and government

·        advocate keep pace with rapid technology development and provide models of more resilient societies.

Education- Quality education is an essential tool for achieving a more sustainable world as it focuses on the development of the knowledge, skills, understanding, values, and actions required to create a sustainable world.

·       ensure environmental protection and conservation and promote social equity by ensuring transformative education

·       allow learners to make informed decisions and take individual and collective action to change the societies and care for the planet

·       prepares students and learners of all ages to find solutions for the challenges of today and the future.

·       develops life-skills including leadership, communication, and management to excel in improving living standards, help humanity grow, and build a strong sustainable world.

COVID‐19 and Children

Did you notice that the letter ‘C’ has shot to prominence and brought a sea of change in the lives of children through this Covid -19? Millions of children have been adversely affected by the COVID‐19 pandemic. They have become vulnerable and sensitive to the changes around them which they had never seen or experienced.
